In 2013, Friends of Hyalite partnered with the Economics and Political Science departments at Montana State University to commission a Winter Road Use Survey. Using a combination of road counters and in-person surveys, we were able to capture here-to-fore unknown information about the levels and types of recreation in Hyalite Canyon in winter. This information is critical toward understand the management needs and funding requirements to help keep Hyalite enjoyable for all.
Friends of Hyalite continues to build on our knowledge with seasonal road counts and other valuable research projects. Download our Winter Road Use Study to learn more. For additional information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
