Fat Tire Biking
A "fat bike" is a bicycle with over-sized tires designed for low ground pressure to allow riding on soft unstable terrain, such as snow and sand. Fat bikes are allowed in two areas of Hyalite. The best place to ride a fat bike in Hyalite is in the northern portion of Moser (go left at the Moser Creek/Moser Jumpoff junction). Fat bikes are also allowed on the Hyalite Lake Trail #427 (Grotto Falls). Wheeled vehicles (including bicycles) are not allowed on marked or groomed ski trails from December 2 - April 15. Most of the winter trails in Hyalite are designated ski trails. Ski trails are marked with blue diamonds, and identified on the Hyalite Winter Recreation Map.
